is it time for me to change oil , and if it is then how much does it cost to buy oil ?

Do you think i can change it myself ? i don't have much money rt now , i am in trasnsition looking for a job. trying to save as much as possible , u know.Is it time for me to change Oil in my car ?
The ';Change it every 3,000 miles or 3 months'; isn't necessarily the best advice.

Here’s what to do: Check your owner’s manual and follow the manufacturer’s recommendation. If it says change the oil every three months or 3,000 miles and you haven’t traveled 3,000 miles in that time, change it anyway. But, I think you’ll find that the recommendations are much longer than that. For instance, Acura suggests that I change the oil in my car every 7,500 miles or one year.

Tom and Ray, the hosts of Car Talk on National Public Radio, recommend an oil change every 5,000 miles, although they admit knowing when to change the oil is not an exact science. “It may be too soon for many people and too late for a few,” they say, “but for the vast majority, 5,000-mile oil changes will help your engine last to a ripe, old age.”

Here are a few reminders:

You should always change the filter when you change the oil. You don’t want to contaminate the new oil with the gunk that’s in the old filter.

Check the oil level every few hundred miles. “If you add oil, don’t overfill,” cautions Phil Reed, Consumer Advice Editor for Edmunds, “because that can cause serious engine problems.”

And it’s not a problem If you want to switch from one brand of oil to another, says John Ibbotson, an automotive expert at Consumer Reports. “Just make sure to stick with the manufacturer’s recommendations for engine oil weight,” Ibbotson says. You should also use a product with the API Certification Seal for gasoline engines, which means the oil meets the American Petroleum Institute’s latest requirements and that it is energy conserving. Is it time for me to change Oil in my car ?
yes its time to change the oil..you usually do it every 3000 miles.the price depends on what kind of car you have and what kind of oil it takes..usually you can get an oil change starting at $15.95 to $29.95,you'll have to look around for the cheapest and no its not that hard to do it yourself if you know what your doing it only takes about 15mins tops.At least thats how long it takes me to do mine
if you havent changed oil before dont try it, take it to the dealership, or any local shop oil changes run $10-25, and they reccomend getting it changed every 3000-5000 miles so yes its time
Let the oil cange go til you put 5000 miles on it...It wont hurt a thing%26gt;
Cheaper to just take it to a walmart if ya got a store with a autoshop in it. it's like 18.00
I change mine evey 3000 miles but i run on performance engines so you change yours to suit your car and driving.

But always replace the filter and never never buy cheap oil.

You really get what you pay for,not matter what people say or how many times cheap oil is a big no no.

Do you want all your car internals running on rubbish. So please for a little more now but save a lot more on engine repairs.
Oh yes. and Oh yes you can do it yourself.

First time may be a mess but at least the next time you will save money.

Good Luck.
Buying all the equipment to change it yourself will cost more than having someone else do it. It's a great long term plan, but in the short run, do this.

Wait until 5,000 miles elapse before changing the oil. At that point in time, have about $50 saved to buy everything you need for an oil change. Most auto parts stores will have an inexpensive book or brochure to walk you through it.

In the meantime, check your oil and make sure there is plenty in the car.
