Is it safe to jack up my car to change the oil?

My car is really low to the ground and I'd need to jack it up to change the oil. Is it safe to use one jack or should I use two? And would this require special jacks or just the standard one that came with my car. THANKS.Is it safe to jack up my car to change the oil?
Yes, you can jack it up with either a hydraulic or mechanical jack HOWEVER - VERY IMPORTANT- Use two jackstands to bare the weight of the car. These jackstands do not actually raise the car, they bare the weight.

NEVER get under a car when it is just being held up with the mechanical or hydraulic jack. ONLY get under the car after you put the locking jack stands under each side of the end you are raising.

So many people have died over this. Make sure you have the right gear to get the job done right. Check with an autoparts store for the jackstands and further instruction on how to properly place them. Like I said, it is really easy to die doing this. Totally not worth dying over. Hope this helps. Is it safe to jack up my car to change the oil?
A jack would be fine to lift the car, BUT after it's up you need to put jack stands under it before you get under it. Don't use the jack to support the car while you're under it and be sure it's stable on the stands before you go under, if you're not sure just try to knock it off the stands. The jack that comes with the car isn't for regular use, it's just for emergency tire changes, you need a real jack. This would be best answered by someone that knows how showing you the best way to raise the car and place the stands, maybe you know someone that could show you.
You can get wheel ramps for low-profile cars, or you can purchase extensions to start lifting the car earlier when you drive up the ramps, do not place your body under the car when only a jack is holding it up and always use jack stands in pairs on something solid under the car.
When working under any car, the safest method should be the only method. I wouldn't trust my life being crushed by a 3000 # ++ vehicle to a cheap jack. ALLWAYS use jack stands. you can jack the car up with the one jack but put a stand under it immedietly. I also use rampsthat are rated heavy enough but they don't allow removal of the wheels.
yes you can jack it up but if you have ramps, it would be much better, however if you do not have ramps, you can jack the car up but use jack stand that you will lower car frame onto, this will lessen the possibility of the car falling on you. and chalk the tires.
for your safety dont use this kind of work to change the oil just get it sucked more safer and more faster just for your safety cause you said you have a low car good luck
Don't crawl under the car unless it is on jack stands or you have used portable wheel ramps.
Jack it up then put axle stands either under the sills or chassis rails.
use a jack stand or some blocks to be safe , dont trust the jack.
