by any chance have u checked in your radiator...see if there is any oily residue..if there is then u can bet you blew a head gasket
loss two quarts of oil, most likely that it is being burned off gradually, you could try emissions test, may not show up, no signs of smoke, after cold start and running for a few minutes, turn off, then either start and check tail pipe immediately, or have someone else check at startup, any small signs dissipate quickly, also may be quality of oil and thickness, if its high grade synthetic, it may leak without notice, if its low 10w30 it may burn more noticeable, yet not if engine rings and valves are good, no oil on driveway, check under car anyways, may not be severe enough to spill but rather splatter to back of vehicle, if neither of those, then check for leaks to radiator, check antifreeze filler overflow for black bubbles and stain around container, if so, then theres a leak, possibly in gasket, but then engine would be overheating from back pressure when hot, try either using thicker oil for summer, or adding additives,

Why is this question under ';Painting'; in ';Visual Arts';? LINSEED OIL we KNOW... MOTOR OIL we DON'T... We don't know anymore about engine failure than you do. Right brain.... Someone else could help you a LOT more in another category...
Yeah I agree with Mutt %26amp; Ckswife, What the hell has this got to do with Visual Art?
your head gasket is dead if you keep going you are going to blow out your engine completely
with the milage you have on it this sounds normal to me as i have a 1966 toyota pu tk with about 200,000 miles and its doing the same thing but it runs great .

can not beat the 22 r engine.
