Saturn ION 2 2004 2.2 liter engine car oil change?

We have 2004 Saturn ION 2 car which is 2.2. liter engine and manual says with filter change you need 4 quart of oil but without filter change how much oil needed?


I was not sure so without filter change I have added 3.75 quart of oil, is this ok? or I should remove some oil or should change oil filter ?Saturn ION 2 2004 2.2 liter engine car oil change?

To answer your question, it's not an absolute exact amount of oil for every oil change. Get it where it's supposed to be on the dipstick, making sure you go slowly enough to allow oil to drain to the bottom of the oil pan, and then run it for a couple of minutes and check it again, adding more oil if necessary.Saturn ION 2 2004 2.2 liter engine car oil change?
when you change the oil, you should always change the filter. If for some reason, you want to use the same filter, i would remove it, drain it, replace it, then put in the full 4 quarts of oil.
You should always change the filter when you change the oil, but if it's up to the full line on the dipstick you have enough oil. If it's too high you might need to remove some.
u should always change ur oil filter every single oil change that u do. and yes it is 4 Quarts of oil
