How much does the average oil change for a car cost?

New car dealers charge just under $30.00 for regular motor oil. The price goes up 125 -150% for synthetic oil.

You can beat the system by buying synthetic oil at Walmart for $21.00 for a five quart bottle and have a new car dealer change it for you for $25.00.

If you value your car please stay away from ';fast'; oil change joints, muffler shops and tire stores. Too many expensive mistakes! How much does the average oil change for a car cost?
Country Boy is very clever, and right. Make sure you buy oil that was ';engineered for use'; in YOUR particular car. Oils, today, are very specifically made. Personally, I only use Mobil One or ELF oil. Buy an oil filter from your car-maker's dealership. READ the label on each brand of oil you see. On the back, it will say which car specifications it was made for. Some have JASO ratings, for Asian cars. Some will say ';made for Chrysler cars.'; Etc.
