I had an oil change done and the people forgot to put oil in my car, what kind of damage could have been done?

call your local news channel ibvestigation and tell them , the oil change place will definately fix the car than , it depends on how long you drove with out noticing !I had an oil change done and the people forgot to put oil in my car, what kind of damage could have been done?
How long can a human live without any blood in their body? Oil is the blood of an engine, without it metal parts spin and rub against each other causing extreme wear and metal shavings that will get circulated throughout your engine and cause extensive damage. I would get oil in it, have a mechanic check it at their expense, then change the oil after a few days and check for those metal particles. If they are present, insist they replace your engine,it is dying. Get managers names and document everything you can.I had an oil change done and the people forgot to put oil in my car, what kind of damage could have been done?
if they didnt put any oil in your engine, you should have known that as soon as you started your car, your oil light should have stayed on. depends on how far you driven the car, what damage it could have done. the bearings could have got bad, and thrown a rod. first thing about taking it to a small claims court, you have to prove they didnt put any oil in it and their attorney will probably ask you why didnt you tell them and so on, and so on.in other words, its your word against theirs. right there is 1 of the reasons i do my own work, i dont trust them as far as i can throw my car.
This all depends on how long it was running befor oil was put back in. if ti was only ran for a short peirod of time (under 2min.)nothing. but if it were ran for longer than that you could have warped the piston rings and cylinder walls, if you drove it for more than 10min you could do some seirous dammage including seising you engine which means that you engine is dead,or you could incounter a rod knock, which means that the piston seprated it self from the crank.
a cars engine needs oil to run smooth without oil gears grind an burn up if its been running without oil for a long time it would burn out the engine causing a lot of damage on the engine so if u got it done at a shop and there is damage done it would be their responsibility for the damage done
Totally an unforgivable failure of the repair shop. You should demand no less than a new replacement engine and go to small claims court to get it. Their best technicians should be overseeing such critical engine maintenance.
serious damage... piston ring wear... lifter wear... heat stress on heads and block ... you would have heard the problem immediately upon starting the car ...hopefully they shut it down immediately
none if it wasn't started and driven away.

They owe you a NEW engine if they sentyou away with it empty.
none...you must have heard racket it made and shut it off right away.... a few secounds will not hurt.
