Do you put any oil treatment in the car after an oil change?

On one of those mechanic shows on TV the mechanic said to put Oil Stabilizer treatment into the crank case after an oil change. He said it lubricates better than just oil. He specifically recommended Lucas oil treatment. Do you think this is necessary and why?Do you put any oil treatment in the car after an oil change?
I would recommend it for engines with higher milage or ones that burn oil fast. It does help to lubricate your engine, and slows down oil consupmtion. Lucas is expensive, but worth it if you want to put some extra life on your engine.Do you put any oil treatment in the car after an oil change?
The best thing to do is to use a chemical de-sludging agent BEFORE the oil change, like butyl cellosolve. This chemical will prepare the way for installation of a good synthetic lubricant, like Mobil One, ELF, or Amzoil. Doing this will increase power, driveability, and fuel mileage, as there is less friction. The only oil additive I recommend is M.O.A., which is a mixture of chemical cleaners and molybdenum disulfide, a lubricant that works on the particle level. Using a non-synthetic oil is a waste of time and money, as a proper synthetic can last for up to 2 years. The protection provided is without peer.
should add it the same time or just after no reason to add it if one is going to drain it and really if you have a problem its not goin g to help any but will help protect if one uses some type and really you can just buy a better type oil and not do it really more of a sales pitch so you wil buy it.. been driving over 40 yrs ive had many a cars and trucks many with over 400,000 miles and never had i seen it do any thing for any of the ones ive tried it on really just changing your oil when you should or before its time wil do the same thing
I would not recommend especially on new cars. Once they are broke in it is ok to use, but not necessary. Example...I just traded in a '94 Chevy Tahoe with 190k miles still running as strong as day one. Regular maintenance at 3-5k miles, no oil treatment ever. It never had an engine problem or smoked, nothing ever wrong.
Lucas is a great product, but is it absolutely necessary...? No.

Especially, if you go with a synthetic oil.

If you live in a cold climate, then you may want to use such products just for added insurance.

I use STP generally, but have come to like Lucas.
Its not necessary, if it was necessay then it would already be in your oil. All it is a synthetic oil. It wont hurt your engine, but wont help it. The only thing you can add to your engine oil that makes any diffrent is xado, and ZDDP.
Most manufactures of vehicle do not recommend any oil additives.

Your typical engine oil will serve you well.

Old trucks and beat up V8's may need a bit of help and Lucas makes money on that notion.

I would run quality oil, that's it.
No - modern engine oils are a marvel of additives, detergents and anti-sludge agents - and, with regular maintenance, will provide all of the engine protection that you need (and without the added expense.)
Its all a con. Don't bother, it does nothing. Cars have been running for years on normal oil, if it needed it the companies would have included the ingredients
Well Lucas does make a good product it can help I usually only recomend it if your car has a problem.
I don't use any. Remember those guys don't mention any product unless they are compensated. Paid advertising.
you could but i dont
not needed if you use good oil/correct WT and change with filter on time...waste of money...save the cash for next oil change
Is your car old and/or has high mileage? If not, then plain oil is good enough.
no, unless your some crazy car- enthusiast junkie
yes!!! i do man
