Can u change the kind of oil on the car like if its 20w50 to 30w50 after doing a full oil change?

filter and everything has been changed out..i just wanna play safe then sorry....Can u change the kind of oil on the car like if its 20w50 to 30w50 after doing a full oil change?
You can, however you need to watch your engine for the next few weeks. A lot of times the seals and gaskets will be used to a certain weight oil, and if you change it then it can cause them to deteriorate or damage, and you can start to leak oil. This happens mostly when you change a higher mileage car from regular to synthetic, but can happen just as easily if you change the weight. Can u change the kind of oil on the car like if its 20w50 to 30w50 after doing a full oil change?
yea just make sure ur car can handle the weight
I would have left the 20w50 alone and not changed it even the last time i answered a question like this i told about my 1985 mustang at that time it had about 368,000 miles on it and mow it has 438,683 miles on it and runs with 70 psi oil pressure and don't leak or smoke and i drive it to Knoxville Tennessee from Tampa Florida a lot and it has always had Havoline 20w50 in it - GOOD LUCK
You can do it anytime you want
