ok hows does it work to know which oil you need for you car?
if you have 19,000 miles what type of oil you need? 10w-50w
how does it go more milage less number or higher thanks for any answers.Car oil change miles and oil type?
Well usually you stick to the type of oil it recommends in the manual, this is what the engineers designed the engine to work with. They usually list one for cold, hot and all around weather oils, milage has really nothing to do with it, I have vehicles with over 300K and still use the factory recommended oil, you can switch to high milage or synthetic if you like but conventional works for my purposes.Car oil change miles and oil type?
The FIRST number is how long the oil takes to go around the engine parts [the lower the better].....The SECOND number is how strong the oil is [the higher the better] SO.........10w30 is a good oil, but 5w40 is better and 0w50 is even better, so on........and I would get synthetic, and keep with it, [dont switch back to regular oil] AND get a fuel injector cleaner at EVERY oil change, AND don't buy cheap stuff like FRAM bc it might cause more trouble than you think..........
The specification for the engine oil your car needs is in your car's owner's manual. Why should anyone say they know better than the engineers that designed your engine? Maybe they've got an engineering degree and have done exhaustive testing to prove different? What's their reference source below? All the synthetic and synthetic blend oils have one product or another that meets or exceeds the oil specifications in your manual. A good website is http://www.mobiloil.com
change your oil every 5k or every 6 months
whichever comes first
and 10w50 is wayy to thick
what are you driving?
should only need 5w30
and no, the guy above me is wrong
the higher the number, the thicker the oil
the first number means how thick it is at cold start up
always check the owners manual , stick with a particular oil .
